I’M THE PERSON BEHIND THE CAMERA

I use photography and painting as a representation of the deepest parts of my mind and memories, reflecting the way I view the world. I am an escapist, in the sense that I always find myself wanting to escape reality and go to another world. I use art, music, movies, and video games to escape my reality, and each of these things heavily influences my style. I create entirely different environments that draws the viewer into a different mindset, even if just for a moment.

My art is the tool I use to bring my escapes into reality; my work does not have to be realistic or make sense. I have ADHD and an anxiety disorder, so I spend a large amount of my time thinking, much of it daydreaming. My neurodivergent brain can make things difficult, but I take that and use it as my superpower and fuel for a career. After therapy, I spent a great deal of time working to research and self reflect to help me understand the world. This allows me to stay grounded and explore my emotions and release them in a way that empowers me.

Shannon's Approach

I strive to make sure my clients are comfortable and happy! I like to talk and get to know you, so we can build a relationship and I can understand what you are looking for in a photographer and the photos I could provide. We will discuss what kind of look you are going for, what you want out of the shoot, and any concerns you may have about someone else taking your picture. Even though I have a passion for photography, even I get nervous in front of a camera! My ultimate goal is to create a fun and safe environment to alleviate any nerves the same way I would want if I were in your position. I am professional and fun, as well as open-minded to new ideas and feedback, to make sure every client is in love with their photos.

I grew up in such a beautiful state with so many beautiful and kind people! I developed my love for photography from the incredible nature here, and it became an obsession with capturing moments.

I originally started school with the hopes of becoming a Recreation Therapist; with the support and constant praise of my family and friends, I decided to follow my heart and graduated with a Bachelor's in Studio Art and a minor in Psychology.

Though I am trained in the art of photography, I do have a love for all forms of art, especially painting! My Grandmother and some of her extended family are talented artists as well. Through school, I found a knack for it and practice in my free time.
